1st Customer Review : Works like a champ!
I purchased this vacuum to replace a worn out Oreck handheld canister. I used the Oreck for 7 plus years as my primary vacuum for dusting furniture and cleaning all hard floor surfaces - it worked like a champ but finally started to lose suction and the attachments started to crack from the prolonged use. Newer Oreck models did not seem to perform as well, or the ones that did were too expensive, and also they no longer had the carrying strap you can link over your shoulder.
I decided to try this Hoover mainly because of the HEPA filter and also the shoulder strap; the shoulder strap is essential because it allows me to have both hands to manage the vacuum which is especially useful for dusting. This little vacuum did not disappoint! The suction is excellent, the motor is relatively quiet (did not scare my animals), and the HEPA filter works like a charm - very little particle dust circulates back into the air. 2nd Customer Review : VAC - Fantastic. AMAZON - Poor.
GOOD NEWS -This little vac is superb for the price if your needs are non-carpet related. I bought it to clean up the mountain of Hound/Jack Russell Terrier hair that plagues our wood floors and leather furniture. Due to the powerful exhaust, I had to 'wear' it to prevent all the hair/dust from getting blown away from the vac head. It does a great job and it's good for dusting (walls, floor boards, door frames etc). The add-on price for the replacement hepa bags is less than buying from Hoover, highly recommended.
BAD NEWS - It arrived with only the main vac head and accordion tubing. There was NO STRAP, NO CADDY (for on-board storage of tools), NO CREVICE TOOL, NO UPHOLSTERY TOOL. I had to call Hoover and once they received my receipt, sent the tools which takes 7-10 business days. If you order though Hoover, they guarantee you'll get everything as advertised and it's only a few dollars more (79.99). From other reviews I've read, this has happened before...
3rd Customer Review : Excellent Suction. Small Filter
This is a great vacuum. The suction is superb; it picks up the dirt in my tile's grout lines that my old Ergorapido used to leave behind.
Unfortunately, the HEPA filter is small. It requires lots of emptying, or, potentially, lots of replacing. If I were to discard and replace the filter after it filled up, this would be an expensive system. As it is, I don't have allergies, so I just take the filter to the garbage can outside and shake it out. This has saved me from having to buy new filters every week or so. I realize not everyone can empty dusty filters the way I do, but this has been a money-saver for us.
I would recommend this vacuum to anyone, as it is lightweight, easy to store, and performs well.
