1st Customer Review : I am pleased with this nice little unit!
I am an Amazon Prime member for more than a few years, and learned to always check reviews. The specs looked good but there were more than a few two-stars on this unit. So I hesitated, then pulled the trigger on an Amazon Warehouse returned unit for a GREAT price. I am very pleased. Although just using this a few days now.
I live in a 1400 sq.ft. farmhouse I am restoring. I clean up an awful lot of sawdust/wood chips/dried mortar but I don't often haul out my shop-vac for regular housework. More than a few cobwebs grew on ceilings and under cabinets and such because I need something less than the nuclear option to get at the creepy things.
This thing is perfect as a light-weight corners and crannys and ceilings clean-up. Sucks like a politician's wife (picks up coins) and I don't understand the overheat complaint since even after twenty minutes straight the intake end is ice-cold and the exhaust is hardly warm to the touch, you can hold your hand over it. 2nd Customer Review : Metro Vacuum hand vac
This hand vacuum has great suction, especially for its size. The attachments are easy to remove/reattach, though I agree with the other reviews which recommend purchasing a hose extension as the one displayed in the product photo is deceivingly shorter than it appears. This vacuum is simple, tidy, and tucks away easily for storage.
3rd Customer Review : Very Poor Design
I thought I was buying a quality American product but this machine is typical of what you see in the worst Chinese products. The hose is attached to the machine with a poor press fit connection and disconnects with the slightest pull. The filter connection to the canister is also a very poor interference fit connection and won't stay connected...falls off as you vacuum. I have since seen the same comments on the internet regarding this machine. The label is pasted on crooked, etc. Really disappointed since this company has been around for over 75 years and these design flaws could be corrected with 1 hour of engineering and $0.50 in parts. I saw the company owner's video and wanted to support a small American business. Oh well, my heart was in the right place. Machine is "very" loud, which is typical of a cheap vacuum motor. Cannot recommend this product at all.
