1st Customer Review : Best cordless vac I've ever owned
I learned about this item from my son, Nate, who has 2 children. We both have Makita 18 volt cordless drill kits so adding a vac to our arsenal was a no-brainer. This vac can be used from a standing position as well as close up with the wand easily removed. It is easy to empty and also easy to clean the filter. I keep it handy for the occasional once-over and the frequent grandchild emergencies. It is very powerful for a cordless vac.

2nd Customer Review : More powerful than I expected....
I bought this tool hoping it would pick up sawdust from my woodworking projects. On my first use, it picked up a drill bit that was a little too close to the action. I didn't expect that. Plenty of pick up power.
3rd Customer Review : excellent handheld vacuum
This 12v Makita vacuum (tool-only) is a great addition for those who already have batteries and a charger from other Makita tool kits. The "12v Max" (10.8v Li-Ion) battery size/voltage is an excellent size for a handheld vacuum, giving this very strong sucking power, while keeping the whole package pretty light in the hand. The wide head and tube are ok for standing usage on a floor or stairs, and the small nozzle is good for both floor and desk usage. There's no typical notch in the tip of the small nozzle, which works great for keyboards and similar uses. The dirt container is easy to empty and clean out without making clouds of dust. I was a little hesitant at the two-stage filter (a plastic cup-shaped screen over a paper filter) but in practice the plastic catches all but the most fine dirt, and it's holding up well after months of moderate use. Overall the Makita LC01 is a well thought out design for home and light shop use, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat...
